Dominating on the Water
May 3rd, 2024
For several years running, Landmark's High School sailing team has dominated the competition on the North Shore and beyond. The coed team sails every afternoon out of Manchester Harbor and participates in both invitational as well as school-to-school competitions. In nearly all cases, Viking sailors take first or second place, race after race. In fact, toward the end of the season, the team took first place in the North Shore Fleet Race regatta with six schools and eight teams. Doug Walker, Landmark Robotics teacher, and Matt Baginski, head of the Automotive Department, coach the team with outstanding results.
At a recent regatta, Science teacher, Michelle Boucher hopped aboard the coach's boat to watch the action and said, "It is incredible to go out on the water and watch up close as the kids exhibit such talent, grit, teamwork, and enthusiasm for this unique sport."
