Alina Donato (2011)
2016 Hall of Fame Inductee

In terms of Alina’s athletic accomplishments, there are many:

  • A three-sport athlete (soccer, basketball, tennis) for all four of her years at Landmark
  • A starter on 12 varsity-level teams over her Landmark career
  • Team MVP on multiple teams for consecutive years
  • IGC All League in multiple years for all three sports

Beyond those accomplishments, Alina earned Landmark's Female Outstanding Athlete of the Year for both her junior and senior year, IGC coaches voted her the IGC MVP for tennis during her senior year, and finally, she was awarded the Boston Globe's All Scholastic Tennis Player Award also during her senior year.

Equally important to me as a coach was Alina's consistent desire to improve as an athlete, teammate, and person; her determination to succeed (even in World Cup soccer practices); and her support for her teammates.  Most of all, her quiet determination and commitment to good sportsmanship enabled her to represent the very best qualities of a Landmark athlete.
