The Elementary-Middle School campus offers after school activities on Monday through Thursday afternoons, from 3 - 4:30 p.m. Specific offerings change from year to year based on student interests and staffing. Some activities such as Biking are seasonal, while others are offered throughout the school year. Most clubs are open to all students, though occasional age requirements are set (for example, elementary cheerleading).
After school activities have included:
• Boat Building
• Card Making
• Community Action Team
• Guitar Lessons for Beginners
Landmark students are encouraged to support our school community by participating as Student Council members, Peer Buddies, tour guides, and panelists. Students also learn the value of community service outside of Landmark through numerous local, national, and international initiatives. Projects change from year to year and are coordinated by Student Council, individual students, faculty members, or the Community Action Team. Recent community service projects have included: food collection for local food pantry, gift drive for Wellspring Holiday Store, clothing drive for Boston homeless shelters, and a campus recycling initiative. In addition to these activities, students coordinate fundraisers for various initiatives, such as Greg Mortenson’s efforts to build schools in Afghanistan.
Landmark offers special after school programs through private service providers as interest and opportunities arises. These activities are on a sign-up basis and require a participation fee. Examples include Karate and Red Cross Babysitting Training Course.
