Laura (Strickler) Owens (2003)

Laura (Strickler) Owens was a four-year starter on the girls varsity soccer and basketball teams from 1999 to 2003. She also was a three-year starter with the girls varsity lacrosse team. Widely considered the most talented female soccer player to ever wear a Vikings uniform, Laura played 11 out of a possible 12 seasons at the varsity level and was repeatedly elected as an IGC All-Star in all three sports she played. Dependable leadership and unquestionable sportsmanship were hallmarks of her fantastic athletic career at Landmark. Laura served as captain and was elected Most Valuable Player for the three varsity teams she played for. She was also chosen as the school's Most Outstanding Athlete in 2003. She graduated from the University of Mississippi.
