Academic Advisors

Customizing Each Student's Experience

The academic advisor role at Landmark is unique from most other schools. Each student is carefully matched with their advisor who serves as guide, communications coordinator, advocate, and friend. It's an extremely hands-on role where no student's needs are ever overlooked.

Academic advisors at Landmark are the primary contact between the student, their teachers, parents/guardians, coaches, and house parents (if they reside on campus). Responsibilities include interpreting testing and examining learning style, overseeing and optimizing each student's tutorial, meeting with the student and teachers, monitoring student progress, coordinating special services, and serving as a liaison with families as well as other school systems. The advisor's role is pivotal to ensuring each student’s success.

Academic advisors are seasoned Landmark School teachers specifically trained in test administration and interpretation, as well as tutorial program design, student advocacy, and mediation. Parents and academic advisors communicate frequently to ensure that each student’s academic schedule is appropriate and that the tutorial and personal goals are realistic and on track.

“My academic advisor is my go-to person. They really get me.”

“It is amazing to have a person we can get in touch with who knows everything about our child's experience. It gives us such piece of mind knowing that there is someone making sure they get what they need.”
