Elementary Key Ceremony 2024
June 7th, 2024
On Friday, June 7, 2024 Landmark Elementary students received special recognition in their Key Ceremony. Students, teachers, and families gathered under the courtyard tent to celebrate this occasion.
One teacher commented, "Something that makes Landmark special is our efforts to work on character development. Character education is the deliberate effort to develop traits that are not only good for the individual but are also good for the community. Landmark uses the twelve Keys to a Better Me program. We want students to care about what is right and help them to choose to do what is right. It has been amazing to see all the examples of these character traits throughout the year."
Families and students gathered in their Elementary classrooms where teachers presented students with their individual Key. Teachers shared heartwarming stories and accolades for each student and presented them with a plaque that included their write-up as well as photos from the year.
The Landmark Keys to a Better Me program includes keys like:
- Kindness
- Persistence
- Feelings
- Responsibility
- Self-Advocacy
- Respect
- Patriotism (School/Community Pride)
- Honesty
- Flexibility
- Courage
- Initiative
- Citizenship
