Working at Landmark School
Making a Difference Everyday
The rewards of working in a stimulating, positive, and relevant field pay dividends for a lifetime. And knowing that your work matters and that you are contributing to a mission that changes lives for students and their families is the best feeling you can have.
The Opportunity
One in five students has a language-based learning disability, yet on average general education teachers receive only 1.5 courses in the field*. This leaves teachers wholly unprepared and students as the collateral.
Employees at Landmark are immediately immersed in an energetic, mission-driven community of professionals that receive extensive training laser focused on helping students achieve success, often for the very first time.
What We Do
Landmark changes lives. We take kids who are struggling in school, often broken by the system, and who are feeling less than. Supportive, caring, well-trained adults prove to them that they are smart, capable, and valuable. Landmark doesn't just teach students to read and write, we teach them to believe in themselves again. Come be a part of something great.
Mission
Landmark enables and empowers students with language-based learning disabilities (LBLD), such as dyslexia, to reach their educational and social potential through an exemplary school program complemented by outreach and training, assessment, and research.
Our Approach
The Landmark approach is established, proven, and effective. We are the largest school of our kind in the country. We individualize instruction and build unique programs for each student. Learn more about what makes the Landmark Approach so powerful.
Our Students
Our students have average to above-average intelligence and are behaviorally well adjusted. They are curious and eager to learn but struggle in traditional school settings. There are about 470 students split between our Elementary•Middle and High School campuses.
Teacher Residency

New and even experienced teachers come to Landmark to learn proven strategies to meet the needs of students with dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities. Landmark’s Teacher Residency Program is the springboard upon which educators hone skills and build mastery while working full-time and earning a fully subsidized advanced degree from the Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Training, mentorship, and ongoing support are organically built into our approach.
