"Wisdom of the Crowds" at Landmark
September 24th, 2024
On Tuesday, September 24, Landmark Integrated math classes invited the campus to participate in an experiment called "Wisdom of the Crowds". The idea is that when trying to guess the answer to a finite thing, like the weight of a cow or how many jelly beans are in a jar, the average of the crowds guesses is more accurate than the majority of individual guesses.
From how many drops of blue liquid can fill a circle to the price of a collection of food items to guessing the weight of a car door (yes it was taken off the car!), students put their own creative spin on the experiment.
Watch this video from PBS to learn more about the Wisdom of Crowds.
