Landmark is governed by a capable and diverse group of trustees whose commitment to the organization is deep and meaningful. Our trustees oversee the fiduciary health of Landmark School and Landmark School Outreach and establish and steer key policy decisions.
Jeffrey Alpaugh P'21
President, North America for Aon
Jeff Alpaugh is the president of North America for Aon. He is responsible for driving revenue growth across the region, including improving new business production, advancing the sales production model, enhancing the client experience and strengthening client retention. Prior to joining Aon, Jeff worked at Marsh McLennan for 34 years with an impeccable track record in developing and executing industry-specific go-to-market growth strategies. He most recently served as the U.S. and Canada growth and industry practice leader, leading Marsh’s 22 industry practices. Jeff also served as the company’s U.S. chief country officer (CCO), working with leadership teams from Mercer, Oliver Wyman and Guy Carpenter to leverage content, capabilities, commercial growth platforms and connections to strengthen long-term revenue growth. Jeff holds a BA in political science from Kenyon College and earned his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Jeff enjoys golf, skiing, squash, and cycling. He and his wife Larisa live in Wellesley, MA with their five children: Harrison, Lindsey, Laurel, Landon, and Haley.
Karen Altman P’26
Parent and Volunteer
Trained in public relations and communications, Karen is delighted to bring her experience across multiple education and non-profit platforms to the Landmark Board of Trustees. Most recently, she worked with The Schenck School managing all aspects of the annual Auction and Gala and leading Parents Association efforts as a member of the development team. Karen received her Bachelor of Science in Communications with distinction in Public Relations from the University of Georgia. She holds Associate Level Certification with the Orton-Gillingham Academy as well as Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator Certification.
Karen and her husband Mike are the proud parents of two teenagers. Their daughter Samantha is a second-year boarding student at Landmark and their son Andrew attends an independent school in their hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.
Mike Altman P’26
Chief Investment Officer, Cortland
As Chief Investment Officer for Cortland, Mike Altman directs the firm’s investment strategy with a focus on asset management. Mike joined Cortland in 2007 as a development associate and has played an integral role in growing the company, becoming Executive Vice President of Investments in 2010 before assuming his current role in 2013. Over the course of his career with Cortland, he has led many core aspects of the business, including capital raising and portfolio strategy, which have directly influenced Cortland's evolution from a small development company to one of the largest companies in the multifamily industry.
Mike serves in Board positions for multiple corporate entities in the United States and The United Kingdom. Most proud of his involvement with Project Destined, Mike helped launch the organization in Atlanta in 2018, which has now expanded into six states.
Mike holds a master's degree in real estate from Georgia State University and a bachelor's degree in environmental science from the University of Georgia. He is a licensed real estate broker and is associated with the Atlanta Multifamily Network and the U.S. Green Building Council.
Troy Baker
Upper School Director, Breck School
Dr. Baker currently serves as the Upper School Director for Breck School, a P-12, coed, independent day school located in Golden Valley, Minnesota. With 19 years of experience in education, Troy has worked in a vast array of environments, including traditional public schools, charter, and independent schools. Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Troy earned his Master of Arts in Teaching from Brown University and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from Vanderbilt University where his research focused on independent school board governance and strategic leadership. He also served as the Athletic Director and Director of Student Life for Pace Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. Troy is a passionate, caring, and thoughtful school leader who embraces complexity and holds firm to shared beliefs and values. Troy has three children, Mckenzie, Logan, and Dylan and enjoys fishing and all things outdoors.
Josh Clark P'28, 31
Head of School, Landmark School
Josh Clark is the Head of School at Landmark School in Beverly, Mass. He previously served as head of The Schenck School in Atlanta, Ga. and the Bodine School in Memphis, Tenn. Josh began his career in education at Lausanne Collegiate School, an International Baccalaureate World School in Memphis, Tenn., where he served as assistant head of the Middle School and a middle and high school English teacher for seven years. He's involved with several professional organizations and currently serves as the chair of the International Dyslexia Association and is an expert contributor to Made by Dyslexia, an awareness-raising, educational, and advocacy group. He also co-founded the Association of LD Schools (ALDS) and sits on their board. Josh is very interested in promoting the science of reading as a vehicle for education reform and social good. Josh and his wife, Melanie, also an educator, have two children, Rigby and Dalloway. When not working to further the cause of reading challenges, Josh loves to run, read, and travel.
Bill Gersh '06
Agent, Alternative and Digital Packaging Division, The Gersh Agency
Bill Gersh ’06 graduated from Emerson College in 2010 with a degree in Studio TV Production. For the next four years he held production positions on live television shows such as The Golden Globes, Grammy Awards, Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, and large-scale televised events including the Super Bowl Halftime Show and two Presidential Inaugurations. In addition, Bill was a Director and Technical Director on the CBS reality show "Big Brother" for three seasons.
Since 2014 Bill has been working at The Gersh Agency, the oldest talent agency in Hollywood that was started by his grandfather in the 1940s. The agency represents actors, writers, directors, producers, cinematographers, editors, and comedians in television, film, and theater. Bill is currently an agent in the Alternative and Digital Packaging Division, which represents many of the people in the fields in which Bill worked prior to joining the agency.
Thilo Henkes P'24
Landmark School Board Chair
Managing Director and Partner, L.E.K.Consulting
Thilo joined Landmark School's Board of Trustees in 2018. He and his wife Lucy have three sons, the youngest of whom is a student on the High School campus. The other two boys attend Governor’s Academy. Thilo is a managing director and partner in the Boston office of L.E.K. Consulting, a global strategy consulting company. Thilo has served as a trustee at Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill for six years and for ten years at the First Lutheran Church of Boston. Thilo earned his MBA at Harvard Business School and his BA in Mathematics from Hamilton College. Thilo is an avid triathlete and enjoys sailing, tennis, and squash with his family.
Gretchen Hover Moreschi, P’23
Founder and Managing Partner, Imbue Partners
As a behavioral change expert, Gretchen has more than 25 years of experience in understanding people and the choices they make. She is a strategist, speaker, author, and facilitator who partners with biopharma and medical technology organizations to reimagine how they engage with their most important stakeholders – patients, caregivers, healthcare teams, and each other. Gretchen has unique expertise in developing operating models, facilitating advisory boards, and delivering cognitive / behavioral programs. She helps teams tap into and activate the critical motivators of positive change. Her work includes strategy and solution development in customer centricity, market growth, product launch, and competitive readiness. Her track record includes collaborations with Alexion, Biogen, Pfizer, Sanofi, Takeda, Sunovion and the US National Security Agency (NSA). Her work has been published in the journal of Clinical Therapeutics and at conferences for the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) and the Drug Information Association (DIA). Gretchen holds a BA from Loyola University of Maryland and a Master’s in Organization Development and Behavioral Change from the Pennsylvania State University. She has been a guest speaker at WITI (Women in Technology International), Bentley University, and Boston University. She is an active member of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio). Gretchen enjoys kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, and gardening. She lives in Middleton, MA with her husband Mark and two sons, Mason and Gaven (’23).
Brandi Johnson
Endicott College, Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer
Brandi has worked at Endicott College since 2008 in a variety of student-facing roles. She currently holds the title of Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer in addition to being an adjunct lecturer. Brandi has a M.Ed. from Lesley University and a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. An AmeriCorps alum, Brandi served two years working with inner city youth in Boston and has held multiple roles at several other educational organizations, including Regis College, Brookline Public Schools, UMass Amherst, Boston Public Schools, and Citizen Schools.
Dedicated to serving her community, she is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Harborlight Montessori School and Pathways for Children. In addition to her board work she is also a Grant follow-up Site Visitor for the Cummings Foundation and a 2023-2024 North Shore LEADS 5.0 Fellow. Brandi is a regular guest speaker at area high schools, and has delivered keynote addresses at numerous diversity and belonging webinars and seminars. She is originally from Ashland, MA and currently resides in Beverly, MA with her husband, Lance Greene and her 9 year old daughter Nevaeh. Brandi cherishes spending time with her family and exploring new places with them. In her spare time, she collects coins, puzzles, crafts and makes candy. She also loves searching for and listening to vinyl records and most recently enjoys supporting her daughter’s entrepreneurial endeavors as she currently aspires to create her own business.
Gabriella (Pecoraro) Leone ’07

Gabriella is a Landmark School graduate, attending both the Elementary•Middle School and High School over the course of eight years. She served on the Board of Trustees as Alumni Representative from 2019-2022 and currently serves on the Alumni Council. Gabriella has worked at John Hancock Financial Services, globally Manulife since 2011. Currently, her role consists of hosting large scale events for colleagues, clients, and board members on the Global Events & Strategic Initiatives team.
Gabriella holds a BA from Stonehill College in International Business and Economics. She lives in Salem, MA with her husband, Vinny, and two children. Gabriella is honored to serve as an official board member, giving back to an organization that has played such an important role in her life.
John Leslie P’21
Landmark School Board Secretary
Former Partner, IHS Markit
John was a partner with the firm IHS Markit, an information, insight, and data science company. Formerly a member of the office of the CTO, John was product lead for the firm’s major data aggregation and distribution technology platforms. Prior to this, John was a founding member of Wall Street On Demand, where, as CTO, he led the effort to build a technology platform that now hosts web sites for a majority of North American brokerage and financial media firms. Wall Street On Demand was sold to IHS Markit upon which John and his family moved to London, IHS Markit’s headquarters, where he served a variety of technology roles. John graduated from Princeton University where he majored in Political Economy. John, his wife Heather, and their twin boys moved to Boston in 2017. Their son Nick started Landmark in eighth grade and graduated from the high school.
Nicholas A. Lopardo P'92, GP'20, '22, '23, '24
Lifetime Trustee
Retired Vice Chairman, State Street Corporation
Nick Lopardo distinguishes himself among his fellow trustees as the parent, father-in-law, and grandparent of two Landmark alumni and five current students. Nick was the longest-running Chairman of the Board serving 19 productive years for the institution and also co-chaired the Landmark Matters capital campaign. He is the founder, Chairman, and CEO of NAL Group, a privately held investment holding company with properties in sports and entertainment, promotional marketing, golf shoe company, and real estate. Prior to forming NAL, Mr. Lopardo retired as the Vice Chairman of State Street Corporation where he served as the Chairman and CEO of its global investment management arm, State Street Global Advisors (SSGA). Throughout his career, Nick has been active on the board of directors of corporations as well as non-profit institutions. Nick and his wife, Diane, have three children and 10 grandchildren. His son, AJ, and daughter-in-law, Amanda, were 1992 graduates of Landmark and all five of their children proudly attended Landmark.
Joseph H. Morgart P'12

Alternative Investment, Amundi Pioneer Investments
Joe’s son, Alexander, attended Landmark School from 2007 to 2010 and his daughter Sarah attended the high school for one year. Professionally, Joe is responsible for Alternative Investments at Amundi Pioneer Investments. Prior to Amundi Pioneer, he most recently served as a Senior Vice President at Pyramis Global Advisors, where he was integral to the articulation, architecture, and implementation of growth for the firm’s alternative investments. Prior to 2007, he co-founded Boldwater Capital Management, a company specializing in credit-oriented hedge fund investment strategies and before that Joe spent seven years at Deutsche Bank Alex Brown. Earlier in his career, Joe held various roles at Anchor/Russell Capital Advisors, Bank of Boston, and IBM. Joe earned a BA from Johnson State College and his MBA from Northeastern University. He chairs the Investment Committee of The Landmark School. He is a past Board Chair of Jewish Big Brother and Big Sister and currently chairs their Endowment Board and Investment Committee. He also serves as a member of the Investment Committee for Combined Jewish Philanthropies. Joe has been a guest lecturer at the Harvard Business School and the Sloan School of Management at MIT. He has four children and in his free time Joe enjoys tennis, golf, yoga and bicycling.
Shelley Moses-Reed P'23
Former Customer Experience Executive, Medallia
Shelley discovered Landmark School by way of Woodin Math in 2012 while searching online in the middle of the night to find tips on teaching math facts to her son. This led to her son attending two Landmark Summer programs in 2013 and 2014. The family then decided to co-locate for middle school between Colorado and Massachusetts from 2016-2019. Shelley brings 30 successful years of sales, operations, and customer relations experience to the Board. She has led strategic, global client teams for Oracle and Medallia. She has a B.S. in Business Administration and Management from the University of Kansas. She also served on the Executive Committee and Boards for Craig Hospital and the International Dyslexia Association-Rocky Mountain Branch. Shelley enjoys mentoring colleagues, entertaining family and friends, gardening, and hiking.

Mike Joined Landmark’s Board of Trustees in June of 2017. He has extensive experience working with growth-stage businesses as both an investor and an operator. He is a founder and multiple-time CEO with a deep understanding of the unique operational challenges that growing companies face. He has taken several companies public and has worked at Advent International, Razorfish, i-Cube, International Consulting Services, and is the co-founder of SAP America. Mike and his wife Randa, have a child who attended Landmark from 2014 to 2019.
Spencer Smitherman '08
Founder/CEO, Switchboard Technologies, Inc.
Spencer is a former student and graduate of Landmark School. He attended both the Elementary•Middle School and High School over the course of eight years. After Landmark, Spencer attended Bentley University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors focusing on Entrepreneurial Studies and Global Perspectives. Spencer lived in Denver for several years where he served as the Director of Client Onboarding & Technical Support at Returnly. Spencer, and his wife Holly, recently relocated to Orange County, California. He currently runs Switchboard Technologies, an Integration as a Service provider for e-commerce vendors and their customers.
Brian D. Stein P’26
LEED AP, Owner/Principal, Vance Stein Architecture
Brian joined Landmark School’s Board of Trustees in 2022. He and his wife Stephanie have triplet daughters, one of whom is a student at Landmark School. Brian is the owner and principal of Vance Stein Architecture in Beverly, MA, an architectural firm he founded in 2018. He has nearly 25 years of experience designing high-end residences and developments throughout New England and other areas of the US. Brian currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Development Corporation, having served since its inception in 2012 and acting as chairman until 2020. He also served 11 years on the Hamilton Planning Board, serving as chair the final 4 years. He was a past member of the Hamilton Affordable Housing Trust and Commercial Overlay District committee.

Lisa is a dedicated parent and community advocate. As a proud parent, Lisa cherishes the role of nurturing and guiding their three children. Her son, Wyatt, has been attending Landmark for three years, benefiting from a supportive educational environment.
Beyond her commitment to parenthood, Lisa demonstrates a strong dedication to community service. She has served as a past Co-President and current member of the Board of Directors for Hill House in Boston. Through her position, Lisa actively contributes to shaping and improving the programs and initiatives provided by Hill House, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community.
Lisa grew up in Connecticut, graduated from St. Lawrence University and lives in Boston with her husband and three children. In her free time, Lisa enjoys exploring new books, engaging in outdoor activities with her family and travel.
Alex Tatum P‘28

Mr. Tatum is responsible for originating, screening, evaluating, negotiating, monitoring and disposing of private equity investments. Prior to Constitution Capital, Mr. Tatum was an Investment Manager at Standard Life Investments Private Equity USA. Previously, he was a financial analyst with Goldman Sachs. Mr. Tatum began his career with SunTrust Robinson Humphrey as a financial analyst in their investment banking division. Mr. Tatum earned his MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and his undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College where he completed a major in Economics.

Jennifer is an ODR Investigator and a licensed attorney. After serving as an Attorney Advisor to the Boston District Chief Judge at the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges, she conducted whistleblower protection investigations for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. From 1997 through 2023, Jennifer contracted with numerous Federal agencies at various stages of the Federal sector equal employment opportunity process, including conducting investigations and authoring final agency decisions. Jennifer holds a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and a B.A. in Political Science from Emmanuel College.
Jennifer and her husband Gary currently live in Boston with their son, Zachary, who started at Landmark Elementary and Middle School in 8th grade. Jennifer was happy to find Landmark School after Zach spent four years in public school and three years in homeschool. She knew at first introduction that Landmark School offered the perfect balance of educational opportunity in a supportive environment. Jennifer and Gary’s eldest son, Sam, graduated from Northeastern University and their middle son, Harry, is at Drexel University. When the Worley family is not together in Boston wandering the city and experiencing new restaurants, they are in Vermont exploring the mountains or on Long Island enjoying the beach.
