Memberships
Landmark School is a member of the following associations.
Association of Independent Schools of New England: Provides strategic information, accreditation, advocacy, and professional development opportunities to its 200 member schools.
Association of LD Schools (ALDS): Connecting and Supporting LD Schools and the People in Them. The Association of LD Schools (ALDS) is a formal community for schools that specialize in the education of students with learning differences, such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and executive dysfunction.
International Dyslexia Association (IDA): An international education and advocacy group with 40 branches in the U.S. and Canada and partners in more than 25 countries. The IDA is "committed to creating a future for all individuals who struggle with dyslexia and other reading differences to that they may have richer, more robust lives and the access to tools and resources they need."
Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA): Through research, early identification, intervention, and advocacy, the LDA seeks to "create opportunities for success for all individuals affected by learning disabilities and to reduce the incidence of learning disabilities in future generations."
Massachusetts Association of 766 Approved Private Schools (MAAPS): This statewide association represents approved private special education schools "in their goal of providing the highest quality education to students with special needs."
National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS): A nonprofit association that provides services to more than 1,800 schools and associations of schools in the United States and abroad. NAIS "offers research and trend analysis, leadership and governance guidance, and professional development opportunities for school and board leaders."
National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET): Landmark is recognized as a SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE. NASET Supports and assists those preparing for or teaching in the field of special education; seeks to ensure that all children and adolescents with special needs receive the best education possible by promoting the highest professional standards; and informs members of current issues, research, policy, and professional development.
Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA): A not-for-profit, international professional association that represents experienced independent educational consultants. The IECA's mission is to "promote the highest quality independent educational consulting to students and families seeking skilled, ethical, academic or therapeutic guidance; to enhance professional development; and to foster career satisfaction among members."
Small Boarding School Association (SBSA): Supports and promotes small boarding schools and helps to facilitate collaboration and communication between schools.
The Enrollment Management Association: Offers enrollment leaders at independent schools resources, including data, research, and training, to help them attract qualified, mission-appropriate students.
Accreditations
Landmark School is accredited by the following groups:
New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC): An independent, nonprofit membership organization that connects and serves more than 2,000 public and independent schools, technical and career institutions, colleges, and universities in New England plus International schools in more than 65 nations worldwide.
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education:
Licenses educators, distributes state and federal education money, helps districts implement learning standards, oversees statewide standardized tests, monitors schools and districts, and convenes districts and individuals to share best practices.
Landmark School has earned Full Approval as an approved private special education program from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Approval is a result of a review conducted in the 2023-2024 school year. The next expected Program Review will be conducted in the 2026-2027 school year.
