Continuing to Learn...Together
April 29th, 2022
Once you become a teacher, the learning doesn't stop. In fact, it's just the beginning of a life-long journey. Teachers learn from their students, their colleagues, professional development courses. They are constantly honing their skills to give their students the most up-to-date and best practices. As an institution, Landmark School also values having core practices that ALL faculty use in their classrooms. So, no matter which classroom a Landmark student walks into, they will find, for example, an AGENDA on the board.
These Common Instructional Practices don't happen by chance. They are a product of lots of research and careful curation. The school year began with a focus on several common instructional practices, which were then been embedded in trainings throughout the year, and today, Landmark High School teachers gathered to find out how it's been going. Both students and faculty filled out surveys to assess what has been effective and what could be improved upon. This constant self-evaluation is part of what keeps Landmark improving year after year.
These common instructional practices help reinforce Landmark's Six Teaching Principles.
