Belonging at Landmark
Fostering a Respectful, Inclusive, and Empowering School Community

Landmark School’s vision is to foster the power of learning differently, empowering students to think independently, solve creatively, and be prepared for an ever-changing world. To fully engage in the academic, social-emotional, and extracurricular life of our school—and to achieve the goals in our Portrait of a Graduate—students must feel seen, supported, affirmed, and empowered.  At Landmark, we strive to create and uphold a community and culture where we embrace and respect the dignity of all community members.

Landmark Values compass

Our Vision is built on Landmark’s core Values: Exploration, Character, and Empowerment. These core values are supported by additional guiding principles such as growth, confidence, independence, creativity, learning, respect, integrity, kindness, and empathy. These Values are integrated into every aspect of Landmark, from elementary school through high school graduation.

In order to truly prepare students for an ever-changing world, and to teach them to embody the values of Landmark School, Landmark is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

DEIB Mission Statement

In pursuit of our mission to enable and empower all students to reach their full potential, Landmark School is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, as those values are critical to creating an environment where we affirm, embrace, and respect the dignity of all community members.

Creating a Culture of Belonging at Landmark:

  • We strive for belonging, where all members of the community feel seen, supported, empowered, and affirmed, including any difference such as race, ethnicity, sex, age, body size, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, ability status, socioeconomic status, and immigration status.
  • We will foster an environment where all members of the community can fully access and participate in the academic, social-emotional, extracurricular, and professional offerings of our institution.
  • We expect respectful dialogue between differing intellectual, ideological, or political ideas.
  • We know words and actions matter: we will respectfully respond when someone is negatively impacted by words or actions, or when lack of action leads to unfair or hurtful treatment. We also recognize that our varied lived experiences and vantage points can deepen and enrich our community when dialogue is respectful and inclusive.
  • We all share in these responsibilities to hold our institution to these standards.
