Job Title: School Counselor/Clinician: High School

Reports to: Director of Counseling at Landmark High School

Status: Full-Time (1 FTE, 40 hours/week) 

Mission and Background 

Landmark is a coeducational, multi-campus, approved Massachusetts Chapter 766 Private Day and Boarding school enrolling students in grades 2-12 diagnosed with dyslexia or another language-based learning disability (LBLD). These fall under the broader category of specific learning disabilities (SLD). Landmark’s unique, individualized approach empowers students to reach their academic and social potential. 

Summary 

The Counseling Department at Landmark School is looking for experienced clinicians to join our team as a full-time school counselor/clinician at the High School at the beginning of the 2025-2026 academic year. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Direct service for students: includes psycho-social evaluation of students referred for counseling, emergency assessments, short and long-term individual therapy, psycho-educational groups, as well as consultation with parents and staff 
  • School Milieu/Outreach/Collaboration: includes referral to and collaboration with outside health providers if needed, participation in IEP and Disciplinary Meetings when indicated, participation in age/grade-specific or school-wide initiatives that support students’ holistic well being, consultation with parents and families of students when indicated 
  • Program development: includes development of curricula for group sessions, education of school personnel regarding psycho-social issues of students and LBLD population
  • Administrative tasks: includes documentation and maintenance of records in accordance to guidelines developed by the Counseling Department at Landmark School, Needs Assessments as required by the Massachusetts Office for Child Care Services 

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field 
  • Licensure such as LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, School Adjustment Counselor, or School Psychologist 
  • Proficiency with digital information management systems, including Google Suite 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Knowledge and understanding of language-based learning differences
