Landmark Cares 2024 Recap and Photos
October 2nd, 2024
Landmark Cares Week: Creating Moments that Matter
Thank you to all of the parents, students, alumni, families, faculty/staff, and friends for showing up in such a monumental way to support our school during Landmark Cares Week! It was wonderful to see so many members of our community come together to show how much they care about Landmark during our fall fundraising and school spirit initiative. We are delighted to share that thanks to you and your generous support, we surpassed our $275,000 fundraising goal, raising more than $277,000!
What a Week!
Read quick recaps of the jam-packed Cares Week. Plus see more photos in the gallery below.
Homecoming: 5K/1K Road Races and Fall Festival
A little rain can’t dampen the Landmark spirit! Despite rainy skies, we had a great turnout at this fun, family-friendly event, with more than 125 runners registered to participate in our two races. The morning also included activities and games, featuring pony rides and an inflatable that quickly turned into a slip-and-slide! The event closed out with a community lunch for all. Thanks to all who came out to support.
Monday Funday
Our two campuses were transformed into a vibrant canvas for students and faculty to discover on Monday morning, with messages of encouragement, positivity, and Viking spirit splashed all over two campuses (thanks to some “elves!”). This day also included special treats at lunch for our students.
LPA Meeting Feat. Alumni Panel
This special presentation featured an engaging panel of Landmark alumni, who have all followed different professional, educational, and personal journeys since graduating from Landmark. The panel answered parent-submitted questions honestly, openly, and with gratitude toward the skills Landmark instilled in them, ensuring their future success. If you haven’t had a chance to tune in yet, check it out!
A special thank you to our alumni panelists Morgan Sebastian '21, Jacob Schneider '08, Liz Theriault '20, Aidan Powers '17, and Rachel Venuti '17.
Social Media Takeover: Moments that Matter
Our social media channels were the place to “be” on Tuesday, with lots of spirited photos and videos from members of the Landmark community sharing the Landmark moment that has mattered most to them. Special shout out to Mrs. Howard for creating such fun and engaging content! Missed these posts? Check out our Facebook and Instagram to take a look!
Spirit Day
Our campuses were bustling with excited energy on our Spirit Day. All students were given their very-own Vikings rally towel. EMS students enjoyed a riveting special assembly featuring professional BMX athlete Mannie Nogueira, who shared messages of perseverance, friendship, and anti-bullying all while performing slick tricks on his bike. High School students participated in a lively pep rally, followed by delicious cake!
Broudo Awards and Faculty/Staff Appreciation
On our Cares Week day dedicated to celebrating our faculty, we recognized the inaugural cohort of the Bob Broudo Excellence in Service Awards. The purpose of the Broudo Awards is to recognize the skill and dedication of Landmark staff and provide monetary bonuses to those reaching milestone years of service to the School. Read more and see the full listing of our first round of recipients. Thank you to the many donors who established the endowment for these awards as part of Landmark School’s 50 Forward Campaign.
We also wanted to pay a special thank you to all of our staff with a small gift - a carabiner containing a compass, because our faculty are so wonderful at guiding our students where they need to go!
Snack Bags for Bootstraps
Our community stepped up to support more than just Landmark School during this special week. Thank you to our families who contributed more than 1,000 snacks to this effort and to the EMS and High School students who volunteered their time to put the bags together for children experiencing food insecurity in our local community. Thanks to you, we donated more than 200 fully assembled snack bags to children in need!
EMS Community Movie Night and Dinner
On what can only be described as a perfect Friday evening, we were heart-warmed to see so many families enjoy pizza and community in the EMS courtyard for what has become a beloved campus tradition.
Forging Ahead
Our Landmark Cares effort secured more than $277,000 of our Annual Fund goal of $1.25M. Thank you for getting us there. If you didn’t have the opportunity to make a gift during Cares Week, you can support the Landmark Fund at any time.
