Social Communications Students Flourish in On-Campus Internships
February 2nd, 2024
High school students in Mr. Blanchette and Mr. Asaro’s Social Communications class have weekly on-campus internships where they can practice and solidify skills that they learn in the classroom. Each student works with a supervisor who assigns them tasks each week. They have the opportunity to learn new workplace skills and engage in conversations with professionals.
Students are stationed all over campus–from the Ansara Gymnasium to Tot Spot, the Advancement Office, the Marketing Department, the IT Department, the library, and the school store. Ritchie F. '26 works in the school store helping Mrs. O’Riordan and Mrs. Knowles sort inventory, fill orders, and email parents, students, and staff on campus who purchased store items. Alistair L. '26 works alongside Mr. Sebens, Landmark’s Maintenance Supervisor, as he learns how to repair leaky faucets and deal with all sorts of problems across our two campuses. Jonathan C. '26 works with Mrs. Howard in the Marketing Department and can often be spotted around campus taking photos of students in classes to later post on Landmark’s social media channels when he is not working on long-term videography projects.
Students in the Social Communications classes are learning lifelong skills in their internships that will undoubtedly shape their future.
