Unpredictable Weather, Unstoppable Effort at Landmark Track & Field Meet

April 16th, 2025

You never know what you’re going to get at a Track & Field meet—sunshine, sudden storms, and standout performances—and this week’s competition had all three. From the opening events to the unexpected early finish, Landmark’s athletes brought incredible energy, focus, and team spirit.

In the long jump, the girls impressed with Mirabal B. landing 7’8” in her first-ever attempt, Annie K. following with a strong 8’7.5”, and Allie H. soaring to an outstanding 10’2.5”. The boys followed with equally exciting results. Logan B. and Ben K. each broke the nine-foot mark, while Zack L. jumped 10’1.5”, Griffin D. reached 10’6”, Sam B. joined the eleven-foot club, and Liam H. topped the day with an incredible 12’2” jump.

Both relay teams were just seconds off school records—Allie H., Lily D., Josie T., and Annie K. finished the 4x100m in a blazing 1:08, only five seconds away from the Landmark record set in 2023. On the boys’ side, Griffin D., Liam H., Sam B., and Zack L. clocked in at 1:00, just seven seconds shy of the 2014 record. Liam H. also ran a remarkable 1500m in under 5:50, a testament to his dedication and consistent hard work.

Although the meet was cut short when the skies darkened and the wind picked up during the 100-meter hurdles, we couldn’t be more impressed by the talent, teamwork, and drive shown by this year’s group. They were ready for anything—and it showed.

Thank you to Ms. Triback and Alex M.S. ’25 for capturing the excitement with great photos!
