Landmark Middle School Field Trip to MIT Museum
October 24th, 2024
Landmark Middle School Students Explore Cutting-Edge Science at MIT Museum
In October 2024, Landmark Middle School students had the unique opportunity to visit the MIT Museum, where they connected classroom science lessons with real-world innovations. The trip was designed to inspire students by showcasing cutting-edge science, engineering, and technology developed at MIT—highlighting how the university has shaped the past, influences the present, and will impact the future.
Students participated in two engaging workshops. In "Automata," they explored mechanical motion, collaborating to create whimsical kinetic sculptures that combined engineering, art, and play. In "Ro-paw-tics," students got creative with circuitry, designing and programming their own robotic pets using maker tools and mechanical engineering principles.
This trip provided students with an exciting hands-on experience, linking scientific inquiry and innovation to MIT discoveries they’ll study throughout the year.
