Landmark High School Hosts 2024 Math-lympics: A Creative Math Day Competition
October 21st, 2024
Landmark High School's Math Day, held twice a year, took on an Olympic twist in 2024 with the Math-lympics, celebrating both teamwork and problem-solving skills. Inspired by the Paris Olympics, each activity mirrored a classic Olympic event but with a math-focused challenge.
Students participated in a range of creative events, such as designing egg-saving devices for the "diving competition" and solving math problems to earn rubber bands for the "archery" event. In the "long jump," classes built paper airplanes to see who could achieve the farthest flight. There were also math trivia hunts around the school and team-building challenges like the "timed mile" cup race.
The overall winners of the competition proudly earned gold medals, making Math-lympics a fun and engaging experience for all!
